World Scout Jamboree 2027 selection weekend
4th December 2025

Over 40 Scouts and Explorers descended on Ross Wood for the World Scout Jamboree selection weekend.
Ashford and Canterbury joined forces once again to hold the selection process where five young people from Ashford and seven from Canterbury would eventually be selected to be part of the UK contingent to Poland in 2027.
The young people and adults all arrived at Ross Wood early Friday evening to put tents up in the dark and then start the weekend of activities!
Once all tents were put up, the young people were given a piece of cloth that they could decorate to show their personalities and the unique number they were given to identify them over the weekend. Free time followed by bed time!
Saturday morning bright and early was breakfast and the start of the weekend activities which involved teamwork, communication, thinking and more!
Across the weekend each participant had to give a two minute talk on absolutely anything that they would like to, we had a range of talks about hedgehogs, sports and transformers!
Saturday afternoon saw the task of creating a film in teams! With varied results of cinematography and story lines!
After dinner on Saturday the young people gathered around the fire with karaoke and dancing until bed.
Sunday saw more activities and tidying up of tents until home time.
Every young person did a great job and made the decision for the leaders especially hard so we must congratulate them for the effort and time they put in but special congratulations are in order for Sophie, Perla, Hayden, Dom and Harrison who have been selected for the World Scout Jamboree in Poland!
